In Colorado, one woman dies every day from breast cancer. At Susan G. Komen® Colorado, we believe that all Coloradans deserve equal access to quality breast cancer care to reduce their risk of dying from this disease.
With the support of breast cancer survivors, co-survivors, educators, physicians, oncologists, and the Colorado community, Komen Colorado has raised and invested more than $42 million into local hospitals and clinics to help pay for breast cancer screenings, diagnostic tests, and treatment for women and men who have no other resources.
Funds have also supported breast cancer patients by covering the cost of non-medical expenses, such as rent, utilities, and food, to ensure those facing the disease can concentrate on fighting and beating it.
Komen Colorado has also contributed more than $15 million to fund research programs around the world. Research investments are made through the Komen national office, so Komen Colorado, along with the other affiliates, contribute a portion of its fundraising efforts every year to support this work.
