Susan G. Komen Colorado’s Snowshoe for the Cure is a truly unique event that combines the community’s philanthropic spirit with Coloradans’ love for the great outdoors – all in an effort to combat the most frequently diagnosed cancer worldwide. Upwards of 1,000 enthusiastic participants strap on their snowshoes in an effort to stomp out breast cancer, a disease that impacts 1 in every 7 women in Colorado.

Hosted in the dreamy winter wonderland of Frisco, Colorado on the pristine trails of the Frisco Nordic Center, this event is fun and family-friendly, offering a Lil Stompers Dash, 3K route and 5K option. Participants start their morning off with a pancake breakfast, then head to the start line and listen to energetic music before the event. The event closes with a truly heartwarming program that will be sure to heat you up, and if it doesn’t then the hot chocolate and coffee will as you look out over a mountain full of pink warriors!

Snowshoe for the Cure is a fun event, but the need is serious. 100% of the funds raised at this event are allocated to advance our mission – to save lives by meeting the most critical needs in our communities and investing in breakthrough research  to prevent and cure breast cancer. Komen Colorado serves 73% of Colorado’s population in a 22-county service area. Seventy five percent is used in our community to help fund local programs that offer breast health education and breast cancer screening and treatment. The remaining 25 percent is invested in groundbreaking research to find better treatments and ultimately a cure to end breast cancer forever!
