Be a Community Supporter
Komen Colorado has five main areas where we need volunteer support:

Education
While most people are aware of breast cancer these days, there are plenty of myths and misconceptions about the disease. For example, did you know that up to 90% of breast cancers are diagnosed with NO family history?

The commitment is ongoing throughout the year and requires 1 – 2 hours a month. Attend community health fairs and other events to help debunk myths like the one above and to spread breast health awareness! Breast cancer 101 training provided.
The next orientation will be scheduled for Spring 2018.

Office Support
Our main office in the Cherry Creek North neighborhood of Denver is always bustling! As a small and mighty staff, we need extra hands to help with special projects and day-to-day office administration tasks.

For special projects, volunteers come into the office as needed.

For day-to-day office administration tasks, we have a monthly office day. Join us the last Friday of every month from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. If it’s your first time coming, stop by at 9:30 a.m. for a brief orientation.

To RSVP: Email us at Volunteer@KomenColorado.org by the Wednesday before each office day.

Signature Event Support
Komen Colorado has three signature events — Race for the Cure, Snowshoe for the Cure, and Pink Tie — to raise much needed funds to support our Colorado communities. We need help in both planning and during the events.

Pink Tie and Snowshoe for the Cure volunteer opportunities are now open! Create an account and sign-up to help.

If you already have an account on MyVolunteerPage.com, view opportunities and sign-up.

Advisory Committees
We have several advisory committees that help provide strategic direction for Komen Colorado’s mission. Your expertise in fundraising, breast cancer services, education, or as a community member can be put to impactful work by ensuring Komen Colorado’s trusted resources are used efficiently. Orientation/training provided.

A monthly commitment of approximately 2 – 5 hours per committee, including time in meetings.

The grant review panel requires approximately 100 hours over a two month period.

Community Ambassadors
Show your More Than Pink™ spirit as a voice of action in the community. Host an event, encourage donations, or just be a champion for the cause within your network. Community Ambassadors help extend Komen Colorado’s reach in many different ways, as outlined in our More Than Pink Ambassador Toolkit. Toolkit and other resources provided.

Commitment is ongoing throughout the year, usually 2 – 4 hours per month but the amount of time is determined by each individual.
